I came across a little scribble of “68/100%” on my 10yo daughter’s school journal earlier, which were the marks she has obtained for her recent English exam. It says on the journal that she’s thankful for this, though I must admit that the practical side of me as a parent tells me that 60ish percent isn’t exactly something to cheer about? π§ Or maybe she’s just glad her grades hadn’t dipped? π€
On the bright side, I’m glad that she’s embracing whatever happens to her and stakes claim to the “good” and the “bad”. It tells me that she is at least AWARE of the need for GRATITUDE FIRST! And for that, I’m THANKFUL for her being well-adjusted enough! π All that until she told me later that she just “needed a place to jot down her marks”. π
Oh hmm… Okay….
Well, who ever said parenting is a dead-end job! π€·ββοΈ Note to self: DO THE WORK + STAY THE COURSE! π’
